BEFORE YOU BOOK
Every booking is unique, and it’s completely natural to have questions before booking your entertainment. Below you’ll find answers to the most common ones, helping you feel confident and excited about choosing the perfect live music for your day. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch, I’m always happy to help.
Can we request songs for you to sing?
Absolutely! I’m happy to take requests in advance from you or your guests. Please email me with any specific requests.
Another great idea is to include a section on your wedding invites where guests can make song requests. If there’s a song I don’t perform, we can always include it in the playlist or DJ Sets.
How many songs would you perform during the ceremony performance?
The ceremony performance will usually consist of a total of 8/9 songs these include:
- 4 or 5 Songs whilst the guests are seating
- 1 song for the isle walk (can be chopped or edited ‘on the fly’ to best fit the brides arrival)
- 3 songs during the signing of the register
- 1 upbeat song to walk out to
The song we want isn’t on your list, can you learn it?
I’m always happy to learn new songs that would personalise the experience for you. I normally would have to limit this to one per booking but if you have a special song you would like for the first dance / ceremony I’d be happy to work on an arrangement for you. The arrangement would always be my interpretation of the song done in a way that would best suit my performance style but where appropriate I’ll always try and send you a recording a week or so in advance of the the date to check that it is what you are looking for. I do have to limit songs learnt to 1 per booking which is usually the first dance.
What does the client call entail?
The client call usually takes place about 2/3 months before the booking. This allows us to chat either by telephone or zoom usually and we would look at putting together a schedule to make sure you get exactly what you want from the package you have booked. We can discuss anything from a running order to song requests. It also gives me time to learn more about you and your guests. The meeting would usually take no longer than an hour. I’m also super keen to meet in person if it’s logistically possible. We can meet at a cafe / bar somewhere in between both of our addresses but must be within 30 Miles of Manchester. Whatever works best for you!
One of our guests would like to sing with you, is that ok?
I’m always happy to get people involved in the performances and if you as the person booking the entertainment are happy for people to join and sing a song or 2 with me then so am I. I find it is a great way of bringing your guests in to the party and making the entertainment more personal but we do always have to be mindful to not cheapen the experience by turning it into a Karaoke free for all.
What do you wear at a booking?
I always load in and finish off the night in branded work wear which makes it easy for venue staff and organisers to know who I am and what I’m doing. During any front facing aspects of the day such as performances / hosting – both myself and any additional crew members will be wearing appropriate outfits that are suitable for the event we are working on. It’s often worth mentioning that after the final live evening set, I tend to change into branded T-Shirts again for the finale as trust me with the energy and sweat that comes off the evening performances it’s for the best! I have in the past been able to customise my attire to your theme or if you have any questions or concerns with my usual clothing please do mention this during the consultation.
